The Unit 114 Barbanel Borah Lifetime Achievement Award created in 2015 as a means of recognizing unit members who have worked tirelessly for decades in the promotion of duplicate bridge within our unit and who additionally are highly accomplished players who meet the qualifications for other high awards such as the Sportsperson of the Year or Goodwill Committee. While specific accomplishments as a player are not essential, most LAA recipients will have reached the level of Gold Life Master or higher. The LAA named for Barbanel Borah who posthumously becomes the first recipient of this award. Any member of Unit 114 may nominate another unit member for this high recognition by advising a member of the unit board of directors.
